Javier Alvarez concentrates his practice in the representation of financial institutions and private companies in a wide array of transactional and regulatory matters. In particular, Mr. Alvarez represents clients in complex domestic and international finance transactions, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other cross-border and domestic transactions. Mr. Alvarez also regularly advises clients on a broad range of regulatory compliance matters, and has experience representing clients in connection with the purchase, sale, leasing and finance of commercial aircraft. Prior to joining ARHM&F, Mr. Alvarez was an associate at Holland & Knight LLP and most recently served as V.P. Assistant General Counsel for a financial institution with approximately $1 billion in assets.
Mr. Alvarez holds a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and a minor in criminal justice from the University of Florida and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was a James Wilson Fellow and a member of the Latin American Law Students Association.
As a member of The Florida Bar, Mr. Alvarez is admitted to practice law in the State of Florida. He is fluent in verbal and written Spanish and is also a member of the Dade County Bar Association, the Cuban American Bar Association and the Florida International Bankers Association.
